Another Reason I Despise Democrats Too

Those who regularly follow my submissions are aware that most of my criticism is of Republicans given their overtly fascistic cold-hearted, mean-spirited completely undemocratic and plutocratic orientation.  But Democrats are just the slightly more palatable of the two corporate parties who dominate government in the United States.  At the United Nations, Venezuela has just won a seat on the Security Council for 2015-2016.  Venezuela’s bid drew 181 votes from the 193 members of the General Assembly.  The ballot was secret so we can’t know for certain whether the U.S. voted against but let’s take a look at comments from Obama’s UN Ambassador and hypocrite extraordinaire Samantha Power:

"Unfortunately, Venezuala’s conduct at the U.N. has run counter to the spirit of the U.N. Charter and its violations of human rights at home are at odds with the Charter’s letter."

Now anybody with a pulse recognizes immediately how ridiculous it is for any American official to claim some other country violates the UN Charter, human rights, etc.  As with so many issues, the imperial North American colossus is on one side in virtual isolation and almost all of the rest of the world is on the other side.

What is the real reason for Official America’s demonization of Venezuela since the late Hugo Chavez led the Bolivarian Revolution overthrowing Venezuela’s bipartisan corporate state? Since the revolution, Venezuela has harshly criticized America’s role in the Western Hemisphere and the world generally.  When George W. Bush unleashed his criminal aggression against the people of Iraq, Hugo Chavez showed pictures of Iraqi children disfigured and maimed and murdered from America’s high-tech weaponry.  Chavez led efforts to integrate South American countries economically and politically free of American imperialism for the first time.  Chavez lent a hand to the people of Cuba suffering needlessly for more than 50 years under a brutal and senseless U.S. embargo which the entire world condemns annually.  Since Chavez’ death, Venezuela continues to be a leading voice against American imperial violence, against America’s pro-rich anti-environment anti-human stance towards the world, against America’s curious support for Israeli genocide, against the overall U.S. global project to enrich the few, impoverish the many, and facilitate corporate rule over the people and resources of planet Earth.

Given its brave and principled positions in defiance of the global mafia don the rest of the world rewarded Venezuela with a much deserved seat on the Council where it will no doubt provide a strong counterweight to America’s nefarious corporate/imperial agenda.  And what do we get from the "liberal" party?  We get Samantha Power spouting rhetoric that could have easily been said by Dick Cheney or Condi Rice.   Nevermind the fact Power represents the global leader in arms sales, military spending, military bases, drone terror, unauthorized invasions of other countries, etc etc.

Viva la revolucion!  [and my apologies to those who think Oswego exists independently of the rest of the world]

Peace
